Half our OTA stations are NNW about 40 miles away and the other half SSW at 50 miles with neighbors’ trees in both directions. Placed our AT-417 in the attic giving me about 16 feet of elevation above ground. Now getting about 20 percent more stations with this antenna. Reception very good except for rain fade in heavy storms, of course. Used Antop’s channel analyzer to help choose an antenna. Very helpful.

I was very surprised about how many channels this antenna can get. In fact I got rid of my Direct TV for this antenna. It works great I get at least 58 plus channels and all of them in HD quality totally recommend getting this antenna.

This is a very good antenna with good reception. I installed it on my semi tractor and am pleased with the reception. My nig complaint is the plastic mount on.bottom and plastic arm that connects to the pole . It would get a 5* rating if “IF” it had a more durable mount. I’ve bought 2 of these and the mount has broken off the bottom both times. The arm hasn’t lasted a month on my truck.

Very easy to install. Antop web site showed the direction and distance (35-40 miles) to all my local TV transmitters. My geography is flat, but neighbor’s house and trees could interfere with the signal, so I picked the “wing” for its greater signal strength. I attached the antenna to the fascia board of my house, just under the drip edge. The bottom holes of the mounting bracket were so close to the bottom edge of my fascia board (which has less than 4″ exposed under the drip edge) that I mounted a small length of cedar fence picket (about 6″ wide x 9″ long) directly to the fascia board and then mounted the bracket to the cedar board. This should spread the load on the fascia board, making it less likely to split. I used stainless steal screws to mount the cedar board, so I can take it down easily in the future, but they won’t rust and get ugly. The 30′ cable was too short to get to the antenna distribution box in my house, but it was close enough to a plug in the attic that I inserted the power module in the attic and used my own cable from there to the antenna distribution box. I could not find any information in the installation instructions saying the power module would not work in the attic, so hopefully the temperature extremes will not be a problem. I used a regular 1-to-2 splitter in my antenna distribution box to connect 2 TVs. Reception on both TVs is great. The newer TV automatically found 100 channels and the older TV found 84 channels. I’m not sure why they are different.

I must admit that this antenna works great if you install on roof peak. It’s very easy to assemble. I managed to climb a ladder to the roof peak and install the pole and the antenna. I had previous coaxial cable ran in to the house and I just need to connect it with antenna.

My house is in a pretty low lying rural part of Baltimore but we still pick up a lot of channels. It’s a 360′ directional antenna, so we don’t have to rotate the antenna to take advantage of all available channels. Time will tell. I’ll try to update this review if the situation changes.

Easily mounted on the satellite mount when dish was removed, connected to the coax cable already installed on my home. The picture is excellent. I ordered this 2nd one for my best friend. If you do not have a satellite dish mount, then you will need an additional mount pole.

Easy to set up and my reception went up from 12 to over 48 (set up outside on garage). I am in Baltimore and am now picking up stations from both Balto. and DC. I was afraid that it wouldn’t pick up stations not in the specific direction I pointed it at but I am picking up stations located out of the direct line. I did use a compass app and antennaweb.org to locate the best direction, but it was easy to install and I am just amazed at how many stations I get. Amazed! Though I am not that far from the Balto stations but always had trouble picking them up (I couldn’t get all of them at the same time – I would always have to re-arrange the antenna when I wanted to change channels) and now I get ALL the Balto stations at the same time and many DC stations. I actually picked up even more DC stations but once I split the signal to multiple TV’s I lost a few weak DC stations – but I still am picking up most of them. Not many things in life are better than advertised, this is one of the few.

I received my Antenna a few days ago. The packaging was solid, with all pieces neatly packed in the box. Contents included everything needed for setup as well as some menuals for product description and mounting instruction. I mounted it on the side of house with j-pole. I scanned for tv signals and got every station I wanted on the first try. I think the Antenna would pick up more if I mounted it higher, but that wouldn’t look great with a long pole on rooftop. The channels that I did pick up come in very clear and provide a steady signal. Definitely recommend for the cost and quality.

I work as an engineer in broadcast and know this is the type of antenna pros use. This is an outdoor antenna and by design omni-directiona so if you have TV broadcasting on all sides of you, you should buy this one.

I live in an old apartment building which used to have analog TV antennas on the roof but they removed them leaving all the wires behind. A guy figured out how to hook up an antenna and send them to several apartments in the building. His antenna wasn’t great. I think it was directional and didn’t get many stations very well. All the stations we want are larger than 90 degrees of each other so I recommended we try this omni-directiona antenna. With this antenna mounted 20 feet high, we now get way more than we ever expected including a far away station I never was able to get before. Using active splitters we could give all apartments HD TV.

FWIW don’t trust how many miles an antenna is rated. The ability to pull in any given station depends 99% on the terrain. If there are big hills in the way or it is not on the roof, or if using a directional antenna pointed in the wrong direction you won’t get a station 5 miles away with an antenna rated at 100 miles.

We were a little skeptical about purchasing a TV antenna because all we knew for many many years was cable TV we were so used it, but now with the stream TV we had to make adjustments to watch TV without cable so I started to look into a TV antenna, We were impressed with the picture quality just like cable, we capture about 45 channels which are the channels we like to watch, we live in Los Angeles County in the Valley area we get strong winds here but we haven’t had any interruptions at all. Easy to set it up. We installed it on our rooftop. I have already recommended to my friends.

Perfect and does what it is suppose to do.

I had experimented with several OTA antennas (indoor) to bring in the major networks. I tried 5 different antennas, from an inexpensive RCA rabbit ears type to the “Leaf” as well as two different amplified RCA products. All would bring in two local channels with no problems. With a great deal of maneuvering, resetting, etc., I could bring in two more channels, so I could have CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox. It was a pain and no ABC, no matter what, since the ABC tower didn’t even show up as available on antennaweb.org I decided to try an attic location because I did not want to mount outdoors for several reasons. I took the cheap RCA I had and put it in the attic and ran the connection. I was able to set it to bring in the 4 previously mentioned with no maneuvering. I decided to make one last try and ordered the AT-417B.

I received it yesterday and installed it this morning in the attic location. With one adjustment, I was able to bring in the previous 4 channels with great quality AND ABC showed up! The ABC tower is about 40 miles away, as near as I can tell, although I cannot reference that, for sure. Needless to say, I am very pleased. I really think you will be happy with this antenna. I sure am, at this point!

We had it laying on the ground and we got more reception than with our old antenna that was 30 feet up. So we attached the antenna to the side of the house up about 12 feet and we get all the channels available to our area. Very easy install and watching TV in 5 minutes. Well worth the money.

Recently cut cable and went for streaming options but wanted an option for live/local TV. Picked this up and used it on a mount that had previously had a dish mounted on it. While not high up, I am picking up all of my “local” stations and several stations from Cleveland area which is 63 miles North West from me and has an obstructed view vs my local stations only about 11 miles away. The Cleveland channels are hit or miss but locals are all crystal clear with no issues. Great antenna, small footprint. Very happy with this purchase!

Was skeptical, but mounted easy, very plug and play. I took off my dish and mounted this right in its place. Boom, whole home cable already wired. Took about 5 min. Buying a couple more to set up for my parents to save them the $500 a month they pay for dish.
I bought the 80 mile which is overkill but it has 2 power settings that allow range adjustment.

We were paying almost $300 in cable.
I got almost 70 channels in Orlando , Florida with the AT-417B.
The channels are HD and look better than cable.
My favorites are the laff and bounce channel.
It picks up the local network channels and Ion channel too.
Antop is excellent,so easy to install and gets a lot of channels.
Usually this house is terrible for any kind of reception.
It’s a great buy for your living room or any viewing area.Event connected to three TVs doesn’t affect the signal strength.
