    Great Product!

I live in a valley away from major cities in CA so I did not expect to get more than a few stations. I have the antenna on my roof top and I am pulling in 35 stations as far away as 70 miles! I can’t believe I waited so long to pull the plug on my Cable!!

    Excellent Value and Picture

I know nothing about electronics (girly girl) and got this up and running in 10 minutes.

You will need the J pole unless you plan to strap it to something in your attic. We have a 2 story home. I looked up the closest towest online and it was 182-185 degrees – google mapped my home, attached it to the main input cable in the attic, checked it on the TV, and voila – HDTV signal. Note this antenna is meant to be pointed in a specific direction (clearer picture), it’s not an omnidirectional.

We live about 35 miles from the towers. We get about 40 channels (the HDTV are mostly with a “-1” suffix, like 33-1) but only about 20 are worthwhile unless you like the Spanish channels. All the channels are very clear.

I called the cable company (Grande) today to cancel and they miraculously decided they could offer me $50 off my cable bill ongoing to stay one. I told them unless it was free like it is now – no way.

I am currently investigating TIVO options though – I do miss the DVR.

    Easy install

    Jay Pfox

Bought this mounting pole along with
ANTOP Flat Panel Outdoor/Indoor Digital TV Antenna with Smartpass Amplified and Built-in 4G LTE Filter-80 Miles Long Range Multi-Directional Reception since like many others Im tired of paying hundreds on monthly cable/sattelite payments. Installation is a breeze, just find a good flat surface preferably wood and use the 4 screws that came with it. Installed it behind my old satellite dish just to hide the antenna from the street view.

    What's Cable?

We’ve been using this product for about a month now and we couldn’t be happier. I have it mounted in my attic on one of the crossbeams that support the roof. In my area it is picking up ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WCVE (PBS), and a couple other main channels. Overall, I have about 46 channels, but I mainly purchased to get the 2 locals mentioned above. The ones we do get have comparable, if not better quality than we got through the cable box. There are six channels picture pixelates a bit, but so far most of channnels are crystal clear, and I remind myself that it’s free TV I am watching.

We’ve been cable-less for about a month now and so far it’s working great. Highly recommend this product if you are looking to cut the cord and need a solution that can mount indoors. It is bulkier than a lot of the other antennas out there, but bear in mind it’s really intended for installation outdoors.

Works pretty good, we live in the mountains.

    George

Works pretty good, we live in the mountains, so we don’t get quite 80 miles. One thing to note: If your cable runs are long and/or you have a splitter between the antenna and your TV(s), you may need a pre-amp connected close to the antenna. With 75 ft of coax and a 3-way splitter I was only able to get 22 channels, with the addition of a pre-amp I was able to boost that to 37. The distribution amp that comes with the antenna works differently and did not help in my particular situation. We are now enjoying good clear HD TV, and I have returned the cable boxes to my provider and told them I no longer required their service.

  8. Summer

Definitely picks up TV more than 65 miles!

    Summer

    65 miles is definately MINIMUM!

I live out in the boonies it south central WI. There is no cable, satellite costs more than I want to pay and the only Internet is through a mobile phone provider which is charged by the amount of data you use. Which leaves me with no options for TV programming. Even though we have four kids, we don’t watch a lot of TV anyhow in this house. But it would be nice if when I DVR’ed the Packers game, it actually came in enough to watch later that evening when my husband gets home from work! Or when we DVR a Nova program that the kids want to watch but is on past their bedtime, then go to watch it together the next day and it’s so choppy it’s not even worth the time! You feel my pain? We have tried numerous different antennas- analog to digital, indoor to out, big & clunky old school rooftop antennas to the nearly invisible wall antennas. ALWAYS get the same results- spotty at best.

Once I figured out that half our problem was an unshielded antenna cable I went on Amazon to get one, got distracted (damn ADHD), and ended up buying this! As soon as it showed up I went into buyers remorse and nearly hid it from my husband until I could send it back. It is way bigger than I imagined. Although it says you can put it inside a window, you better not have an average apartment-sized window because this would take up nearly the entire thing! That being said, it works REALLY well!

According to any website I’ve checked, I should only be able to get 19 channels here, and that’s all we ever have gotten. With a really expensive system with a booster and outdoor omni-directional antenna pointed just the right way, the websites say I can pick up a few more *if* I’m lucky. I didn’t expect that with this antenna. As the crow flies, I live 30 miles from most of the stations in Madison, but there are tons of hills and valleys between here and there. I happen to live on a solid granite bluff, my house nestled in a valley of that bluff, WITH A METAL ROOF, in the woods surrounded by tons of foliage. Imagine the nearly impossible task of getting any TV or cell signals here…. No antenna has been able to overcome this monumental task. But I gave it a shot anyhow in the mere hopes of being able to just get a more reliable signal of the stations I already have. Imagine my surprise when I rescanned for channels after my husband hooked this up outside, and we ended up with FORTY channels! DOUBLE what we previously had! DOUBLE!!!! After the shock wore off, I tried to figure out where these channels were coming from- Internet searches say they are all out of Milwaukee! THAT’S 100 MILES FROM ME! Mind you, the Milwaukee channels are coming in spotty (the same way my local channels used to), I’m just flabbergasted that I’m able to not only get my local channels in perfectly now given my living arrangements, but I can now get channels from 100 miles away and doubled the amount of stations I previously had!

-Don’t let the size of this thing keep you from buying it, just know you likely won’t have room for it indoors.

-It comes with a shielded cable in case you are having problems with that, like I did.

-The cable could’ve been longer but also isn’t short.

-Many different ways to mount it depending on your situation.

-Really pick up channels further than 65 miles for you.

Don't waste your money on anything else. GET THIS ANTENNAE!!

It appears quality built and I recommend it highly. My favorite channel is PBS and it is about 100 degrees in a different direction from most of the others and no antenna has been able to receive them all. But this Antop does the job. If you are within 60 miles of the towers and can mount it outside, get this antenna. Don’t waste your money on anything else. GET THIS ANTENNAE!!

All others got few channels. This one gets them all!. A great product!

    Rex Reynolds

I am updating my review of the AT-403B antenna. I mounted it outside atop a 50ft pole and it works EXCELLENT! About an hour after I got it mounted before I could get guy wires on it, the wind turned it from pointing east to pointing south but the omni-directional capability was not affected at all. I had to mount it high to get it above the tree canopy and I receive all channels within a 60 mile radius with no pixelation at all. I couldn’t be happier. I hope this quality made antennae will last for many years since pulling it down to replace it would be very difficult. It appears quality built and I recommend it highly. The best antennae you can get. My favorite channel is PBS and it is about 100 degrees in a different direction from most of the others and no antennae has been able to receive them all. But this Antop does the job. If you need an antennae for indoor use and you’re within 30 miles of the broadcast towers get this antennae. If you are within 60 miles of the towers and can mount it outside, get this antennae. Don’t waste your money on anything else. GET THIS ANTENNAE!!

Antop AT-403B enables cutting the cord.

    Thomas Rathje

Upgraded to the AT-403B from an Antop AT-413B due to a few stations suffering pixelation. We’re approximately 25-28 miles from the main Boston broadcasting towers, but due to surrounding trees and terrain, reception suffered on a few channels. With the 403B, reception improved across all stations with the weaker ones now being received well enough that we don’t suffer pixelation even with poor weather conditions. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating is the mounting bracket setup for a pole installation. With the 403B, only a single U-bolt is supplied. While the support bracket on the back side of the pole has teeth to dig into the pole, I would have preferred to see a 2 bolt setup like that supplied with the 413B bracket.

Support from Antop is very responsive, and they were quick to offer an alternate solution when the it became clear the AT-413B fell a little short due to our location, trees, etc. I commend Antop on not attempting to oversell us initially when inquiring about which antenna to use. Looking at the FCC website one would assume the AT-413B would be sufficient. Returning the AT-413B and replacing it with the AT-403B was easy, and the antenna swap was a breeze.

For folks looking to “cut the cord”, this is an excellent antenna. The signal is being split via a 2-way Antop Splitter, one lead going directly to a TV and the other lead going to a HDHomeRun box. On the remote TVs in the house, an Amazon Fire TV box is running the HD HomeRun app to stream the local channels from the Antop Antenna, and the picture quality is excellent. With a rock solid local station solution, we’ll be complementing the local stations with a Playstation Vue subscription. Our monthly costs will go down by well over $120.00 when compare to what we’re currently paying with little loss in the channels available to us. In roughly 5 months we’ll have recovered all of the costs of the new Antenna, HDHomeRun box, and the Amazon Fire TVs we’ve purchased.
