Antop Technology:

smartpass amplifier
1) Smartpass Amplifier, exclusive Antop technology, balances reception range.

The Smartpass Amplifier‘s all-in-one design allows easier connection, delivers correct balance between short and long range reception. It must be powered in order to function. Push the smart switch On or Off and select the switching with which more channels are received.

2) 4G LTE Filter, blocks 3G and 4G wireless signals for noise-free digital reception.

Antop was the first antenna manufacturer to include a built in 4G LTE filter. This filter will block all 3G and 4G signals from mobile phones, tablets, wireless networks or mobile phone transmitters to ensure your noise-free digital TV reception.

4G LTE

By following the simple tips below, you can enjoy FREE TV with your Antop Antenna:

– Re-scan the channels after each switching of the Smartpass Amplifier.
– Scan channels monthly to find all available channels including newly added or changed.
– Do not place or hide the antenna in/behind any metallic objects.
– Install the antenna as high as possible and near a window for better reception.
– Keep the antenna away from any high power consumption devices to avoid interference.

NOTE: Antenna effectiveness is influenced by the distance from signal origination point, station signal strength level, building construction, antenna positioning, reflections from nearby structures and any power consumption sources. The amount of free over-the-air channels you can receive will vary by area and antenna selection, check signal availability at Antop Signalmaps.

Bought this because I had lost connection with favorite station that moved. I am pleased to say this antenna not only pulled in my fav but added a few additional stations as well. Every comes in clear as a bell with NO buffering!

We cut the cord several years ago so had an older model of antenna. This gives us all the channels we had before with more clarity and less hassle. For the most part they come in clear and hold the signal. We do put it in a window though. Would recommend this for anyone who is in a residential area with lots of trees and can get signals within a 50 mile radius of a station.

Great little antenna for my kitchen

    Sarah

I bought for my kitchen small TV. It’s such a smart and tiny antenna, but it works better than the flat antenna I have bought before. I like it very much.

    doubled the number of channels

We do not subscribe to any cable or satellite service. We’ve got two older model televisions that are not HD, so we have converter boxes that we received free from the government (at the time the switch from analog to high-def occurred). Before we attached the AT-206B we got 12 channels. After (easily) plugging in the antenna to the back of the converter box, we got 25 channels! The reception and sound are crisp and clear.
For families that are budget-conscious, or are active and don’t watch much television, this is a great investment to add a few more channels for your viewing pleasure.

I live in a low spot surrounded by trees – can barely get a phone signal. I plugged this in to an HDTV, scanned and voila – 22 channels, all perfect!

    My first ever product review

    Anthony

I got the antenna today in the mail, shipping was pretty fast, and all I can say is wow! I hooked it up to my HDTV and I couldn’t believe I was able to pull in over 20+ stations and all the major networks. ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. I was also able to get channels like ION. I really didn’t think being 30+ miles away I would get anything, but surprise surprise. Because I’m pretty far away from two sets of broadcast towers I didn’t think I would realistically be able to pull any stations, but I was able to pull ABC from 50 miles away in HD. So right now I’m getting an ABC signal from 50 miles away in one major city, and 30 miles away in another major city. My decision has been made, I’m cutting the cable, keeping my high speed internet and will use my Xbox 360 to stream both HuluPlus and Netflix. By using the AT-206B and those streaming services I’ll be saving about $40 per month and will still get to watch most sports via the ESPN app on 360 as well as with the AT-206B. Exciting technology, and price is reasonable. Great product, first review ever and there’s a good reason why. Awesome ANTOP!

That's all we watch so I am extremely happy with my purchase

    MSFG

I have tried many different models/brand, as I thought the only thing that matters is your signal strength. BUT this thing definitely makes huge difference! Compare to my other purchases, it gives us most channels with all 4 majors crispy clear and stable at exactly same spot in the room. That’s all we watch so I am extremely happy with my purchase! Try this one if you are struggling with other antenna, it is the best antenna I have ever owned!

Placed the unit neatly behind wall mounted HDTV on 2nd story bedroom wall. The TV channels found from 40 miles away are streaming in perfect clarity and sound. Good Riddens, Cable & Satellite!

I live in an area where it is difficult to even get decent internet speed (lots of hills and mountains to get over plus I have adobe walls). Tired of the bundling rip-off packages I decided to stream everything anyway. Missed my PBS station so I bought 2 of these antennas and they work perfectly in all areas of my house. Look good, work great.

Works well where others not at all...

    J. George

I live in a difficult broadcast signal area- close to town but surrounded by higher ground. I’ve tried all kinds of antennas with no semblance of success, so I had low hopes for this unusual design. But at the price it was worth a try. Barely bigger than a ipad and weighing close to the same, it was easy to place this high in the room atop a tall set of bookshelves.

When the TV performed its channel scan I was convinced there was something wrong- it was finding way more stations than I even knew were available. Where the most I could ever get were one or two of the strongest signals, this antenna picked up all the local broadcasters and their digital sidebands.

With this kind of equipment there are many variables, so not everyone gets the same result, but this worked well for me where other types of antenna barely worked at all.

If I ever need another antenna this will be my first choice.

A great antenna for getting many channels

    Seth

A great antenna for getting many channels. I live in the SFV of Los Angeles and picked up a total of 140 channels when I activated it on my new 40 inch Samsung television. Although most of the channels are foreign and come out of Orange County, I did receive all of the local LA channels that I was hoping to pick up. Really it did all that I wanted it to do and I am completely satisfied with it. My space is quite away from a window or door so I was surprised that it performed the way it did. Quite amazing.

CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CABLE AND ANTENNA PICTURE QUALITY

    ragazza

Getting sick of the cable bill and a family member went HD antenna, AppleTV and Sling and cut their bill by $200. I bought this one as a trial to put on the bedroom TV which only gets used for some local channel news in the morning. It took a couple girls about 15 minutes, once we played around with getting the TV set to antenna, channels scanned and then all the rearranging of wires. Recommend you have your TV User Manual handy.

    Great antenna.

    Chris

Great little antenna. I recently “cut the cord” and got rid of cable bill. I needed an HD antenna for the little TV in my kitchen but had little space to work with. This is pinned to the wall above the television and the cord is very long so a good bit of it is rolled up behind the TV. It’s noticible but I wasn’t too concerned about aesthetics so much as signal. It’s been working well, I have noticed a bit of tiling sometimes but it’s no worse than the satellite at least it’s not costing me $100 per month.

  16. T. Conrad

Works great - 26 free channels now!

    T. Conrad

I had returned a previous brand that didn’t work. I got about ~10 channels when using this next to the TV, but got 26 channels when placing it in the attic and running the coax down to a wall jack (I recommend that if you can do it). Minor complaint is that when turning it on, there’s a delay before the TV screen responds. So you need to hold the “On” button down for several seconds until you know it’s on. There is a built-in pick-list screen of your channels and what is playing. I haven’t tried recording (and probably won’t).

Good for central Florida aprox midway between Tampa and Orlando

    michael l. umphrey

Used now for 2 months. Replaced older rooftop antenna. I am in a fringe area so antenna needs to be moved occasionally
but generally it gets all the stations I want, and move it to get a few others if needed. For this reason I didn’t mount it, I just
move it around as needed. It gets great reception when oriented properly to the station. Reception is better than the old
outdoor RV rotatable antenna I had!

Good antenna, better than paying for cable.

    Paul B. Huter

Easy to set up, although it does not quite work in the omnidirectional way that is advertised. I still need some basic pointing, and if anything moves in front of the antenna, the signal goes out briefly. But! – it’s better than paying for cable!

    Works good

The cable rates for the basic package keep going up. We already had internet on our smart phone and the cable modem was redundant. We got tires of paying to watch 5 commercial every 10 minutes and dropped our cable. I tried an un-amplified antenna in the attic and pulled in about 10 channels. I was surprised by the reception. Some of these station broadcast at over a megawatt in power. The Antop pulled in PBS for for State College about 40 miles away. Now we have PBS 1,2 and 3, NBC 1,2 3, and 4, CBS 1, 2, 3, ans 4, CW, and FOX. I was surprised by the simultaneous broadcast of multiple channels over the stations. PBS kept dropping out. I bent a wire under the antenna and then bent it forward for 4 inches and then up about 4 inches. It points in the direction of PBS and acts like a director. That did it. PBS comes in steady now. I also got and additional channel the christian broadcast channel. Now we have 16 in hilly western PA. The antenna is in the attic next to a window. I hope snow on the roof in the winter does not ruin the reception.

I gave it a four because I wish the amplifier was detachable. Maybe then I could tryEnergy, Cold Fusion, and Antigravity (Znidarsic Science Books) the antenna outside.

  22. Scott E. High

Comparison With 1byone Amplified HDTV Antenna (And A Very Helpful Tip)

    Scott E. High

    Discounted or free item
    is it good or bad?
    I’ll make the provider/author
    either happy or sad……….
    and sometimes even mad.

I was pleased to be offered this ANTOP AT-206B Indoor HDTV Antenna to test and review. We have two 1byone HDTV antennas in the house set up in a guest room and in one of the kid’s rooms. No sense paying extra for cable outlets (especially if you seldom use them) if you can get 20 or so HDTV stations for free. The 1byone amplified antennas have worked flawlessly and were very easy to set up. Currently they have a 4.0 star rating on Amazon from 2,713 reviews.

Here’s a helpful tip for those reading the negative reviews on this indoor antenna or any of the others. I had to learn this lesson by accident but what I discovered could help you avoid a very frustrating problem. Believe it or not, when you purchase an amplified HDTV antenna, there is every likelihood — especially when buying one with a long range — that the signal strength of the channels you are looking for MIGHT BE TOO STRONG to work with the amplifier switched on. SIMPLY SWITCH THE AMPLIFIER OFF and chances are, unless you have a faulty product, that your new antenna will now work perfectly. This is a simple fix that is counter-intuitive but will probably work for you.

Now here is what I found by comparing the two different antennas. Your success will vary based on your physical location and where you place the antenna. To keep it simple, I placed each antenna on a counter top (one at a time) on the second floor of our house. Nothing else was changed so the comparison should be representative of what you would find. They were not placed close to a window or mounted high on the ceiling — either of which would probably result in more channels being received.

The 1byone antenna costs $29.99, comes in white or black, has a 50 mile range and a 20′ long coax cable. The white color is nice to have since it tends to blend into the decor better. In my test situation I was able to receive 20 strong HDTV signals with good sound and clarity. It obviously is popular since over 2,713 customers have written reviews about it.

This ANTOP antenna costs $54.99, comes only in black, has a 40-50 mile range and has a 10′ long coax cable. It currently has only 16 reviews and the average rating is 4.2 stars. My test resulted in receiving 30 HDTV channels with excellent sound and clarity. The difference in picture and sound quality was notable. There are two improvements that I would make to this antenna. It would probably have a larger audience if it were offered in white and extending the cord to 20′ would allow much more flexible placement.

So which one is better? Both of them do a good job. However the ANTOP offers 33% more channels (in my comparison) and better picture and sound quality — but at almost double the cost. Lower the price of the ANTOP, offer it in white, and extend the cord to 20′, and it would be the superior product by far. However these three differences result in the subtraction of one star in my rating.
